I’m blogging from a train somewhere between Leeds and London. My laptop wire is spread across the carriage and I’m sure at any point someone will trip over the wire and plummet to their death… Hopefully not.
Anyway, today I have been up In Huddersfield doing some prayer teaching. We were looking at the ways God speaks to us and why it is important that he does. I met a great bunch of people and the actual speaking went fine… always a bonus.

I have been struck over the last couple of days how much of a privilege it is that God lets us have a say in stuff through prayer. Yesterday I found myself sat in a courtroom, sitting in a hearing to support one of my friends. Not being a particularly rebellious type, this was the first time I had found myself in such a position, and, I was so conscious that the most useful thing I could do in that situation was pray.

We're almost a month into the 'Church without walls' thing now. The hall has no roof on it, we're kind of in the swing of not hanging out there now, and the sunday services seem to have established themselves a bit more as well. I, however, am not satisfied.

Yesterday dawned bright and sunny, so I decided to head to church. This would be a normal Sunday activity, except my church, Wandsworth Boiler Room, is surrounded by grey hoardings and awaiting demolition.
I spent a while wondering what to do, whether I should roll over and go back to sleep, before deciding that would be a waste of a morning...

Around 130 years ago, a bunch of intrepid christians began the work of the Salvation Army in Wandsworth. excuse the creative license here, but I like to think of them as the type who, having only been saved a few weeks, began crazy tent meetings, watched as people were delivered from alcoholism instantly in their gatherings, sent 'hallelujah lassies' out, amidst raining bricks and insults to tell people about the God who had turned their lives upside down.
